Specific tissues and organs will turn off particular functions because there simply aren’t enough resources to support and maintain the demands on your body. When those demands finally subside or cease, your body will attempt to restart those functions and resume normal physiology.
But some of your functions may struggle to restart. Excessive background stressors like pollution, poor sleep, emotional pressures, nutrient-poor diets and more can hamper their ability to go back online.
Over time, the loss of functions can accumulate, making your body less and less resilient.
