As you may already be aware, Covid-19 has officially been declared a global pandemic. Drawing on hard-won lessons from the 2003 SARS epidemic, Hong Kong has done well to effectively and efficiently combat the new coronavirus. As people gradually return to their pre-crisis lifestyles and residents return to Hong Kong, it’s important to continue to protect against Covid-19. We are not yet out of the woods.
Our clinic remains open and yet we continue to be vigilant with protective measures for your health and safety. These measures include hourly disinfection of all areas within IMI, and temperature checks, compulsory completion of health declaration forms and mandatory hand-sanitising for every person that enters the clinic. All clients are required to wear a mask when entering the clinic and in the waiting areas and common spaces. For added safety and peace of mind, on each of our floors we have placed an air purifier proven to effectively eliminate >99.9% of COVID-19 within 30 minutes.
Travel safety guidelines
Earlier on 17 March, Hong Kong SAR government announced mandatory 14-day quarantine orders to all people who have travelled into Hong Kong from any foreign country. Effective immediately, we are unable to see clients who have travelled internationally until they have been in Hong Kong and symptom-free for 14 days. This includes people who have travelled back into Hong Kong during the last two weeks. We continue to offer Skype and phone consultations, wherever possible, for those either in quarantine or who are self isolating.
If you become ill during the quarantine period, we encourage you to contact your medical doctor’s clinic or a hospital run by the Hospital Authority. Some of the large private medical practices and public hospitals can send self-sampling kits to your home to allow you to test for respiratory illnesses, including Covid-19.
If you have not travelled internationally, but you are experiencing fever or flu-like symptoms, please contact your medical doctor’s clinic. For all other health concerns during and after the quarantine period, many of our practitioners are available for Skype and phone consultations. To schedule an appointment with a practitioner, call our reception on 2523 7121 or connect with us here.
For client and IMI personnel protection, we remind you to only come to the clinic in-person when you have been in Hong Kong and symptom-free for 14 days.
Providing false or misleading information about travel history to a healthcare professional is a criminal offence.
Immunity support
Experts advise the best ways to protect against Covid-19 include practicing good personal and respiratory hygiene, social distancing, delaying non-essential air travel and strengthening your immunity. We have attached our most recent Wellness Insider with our practitioners’ recommendations for immunity support here.
Dispensary guidelines
Clinical prescriptions both new and repeat are available at our clinic dispensary. Please be reminded that travellers from any overseas country are required to adhere to the mandatory quarantine policy and only visit the dispensary in-person when they have been symptom-free in Hong Kong for 14 days. We can deliver clinical prescriptions and supplements to your place of residence in Hong Kong. Clinical-grade supplements are available online as usual.
In these uncertain times, we want to offer you the certainty that you are not alone. Whether you’re home or abroad, we are committed to your health and wellbeing. We will continue to adapt our service offerings to cater to the needs of all our clients over the coming weeks. Regular updates will also be posted on our website and social media platforms.
We wish you well,
IMI Client Services team
