Cystitis
Cystitis causes a burning sensation when you pee.
It’s a common UTI that affects all genders, but is most common in women. It’s also possible for children to contract cystitis. Having a weak immunity puts you at greater risk of cystitis.
You should seek medical help if you’re pregnant, a man, or your child has cystitis; or if your symptoms haven’t cleared up within 3 days.
Needing to pee more often; dark, smelly or cloudy urine; pain in your lower belly.
Children with cystitis might wet themselves, have a fever, be irritable, feel sick, or weak.
Wiping from back to front when you go to the toilet.
Cystitis is not an STI, but sex can trigger the condition. Using spermicide with contraceptives can also be a trigger.
Diabetes, or a weak immunity.
Pregnancy.
Underlying conditions that cause incomplete emptying of the bladder (MS, Parkinson’s, enlarged prostate), or that block the urinary tract (kidney stones).
