Our body is more than just a physical machine. It is a living, dynamic system that is constantly affected by and responding to a variety of influences, from stress to environmental toxins to the electromagnetic fields around us. All these influences play an important role in our overall physical, mental and emotional health.
Although the first step in achieving optimal health or recovering from illness is to look for physical causes, such as structural problems or nutritional deficiency, it is also important that we address our emotional health and consider energy-based healing.
In the last few decades, scientists are beginning to understand the body-mind connection in research, as well as developing logical explanations and testable hypotheses about energy healing.
IMI practitioner Keven Duff is a Master Teacher in the Usui Reiki Network and has been helping people in the complementary health field for over 25 years. She focuses on energy healing and primarily combines Colourpuncture, Reiki and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in her practice. She is also the only certified The Lifeline Technique practitioner in Hong Kong.
“In treating any problem or illness, I prefer to take a multi-directional approach and address the underlying spiritual, emotional and energetic factors, in additional to physical factors, “ said Keven. “These forms of therapy are highly complementary to the nutritional, homeopathic, medical and counseling therapies already offered at IMI.”
What is Reiki?
Reiki—literally means "Universal Life Force"—was rediscovered late in the eighteen hundreds by a Japanese scholar, Dr Mikao Usui. It is a gentle and effective form of energy transmission through the hands.
When our energy is low, imbalanced, or restricted by stress, injury or illness, we are more susceptible to discomfort, further illness and disease. When our energy is high or balanced, we are more likely to feel relaxed and the body’s own innate healing abilities are awakened and utilized for healing.
Reiki can help with reducing anxiety, muscle pain and tension, promoting wound healing and a greater sense of wellbeing.
What is Colourpuncture?
Similar in concept to acupuncture, that the flows of body energy in the meridians can be normalized by stimulation, Colourpuncture involves the gentle application of coloured light frequencies, through blunt glass probes onto relevant points and zones of your body. These light frequencies give information to your body and emotions, prompting improved flow of energy, enhancing function, healing and harmony throughout your entire being.
What is EFT?
EFT is form of acupressure, based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments, but without the invasiveness of needles. Instead, simple tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy onto specific meridians on the head and chest whilst you think about your specific problem, whether it is a traumatic event, an addiction or a pain. At the same time you voice accepting and positive affirmations. It causes an immediate and perceivable reduction in the intensity of stored emotions and often reveals deeper insights.
EFT can help with issues like panic, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, fibromyalgia, etc. and is excellent for clearing feelings of hurt, anger or fear.
“Energy Psychotherapy” is a term referring to the application of acu-pressure or coloured light onto acupuncture points releases trapped, often unconscious blockages in emotional energy, allowing more conscious choices in life.
The LifeLine Technique
Keven offers consultation in The LifeLine Technique. It is a system of energy medicine developed by Dr Darren Weissman, the author of The Power of Infinitude Love and Gratitude. The LifeLine Technique forms a bridge between the unconscious mind—responsible for about 95% of our patterns and reactions—and the conscious mind—responsible for only 5% of our thinking processes—and harmonizes the two. It is a powerful technique for bringing healing into all levels of the person, both physical and emotional and resolving internal conflicts.
The LifeLine Technique is a unified system that integrates the practice and philosophy of different healing modalities. If you are feeling guided to change, transform and grow, without the overburdening symptoms of pain, fear or stress, you may consider experiencing The LifeLine Technique for yourself.
